Germany has a long and illustrious history of winemaking, a fact that is often overlooked due to a period of decidedly lesser glory during the 1970s and 1980s. The Romans first established vineyards around Trier on the Mosel river, and by the third century AD plantings had spread to the Mosel and its tributaries. During the Middle Ages the Christian church, particularly the Cistercian and Benedictine monasteries, was very influential in the development of wine growing and in the production of quality wine in Germany. Some of the most famous names in German wine today, such as Schloss Johannisberg and Kloster Eberbach, were established as monasteries and producing wines nearly 900 years ago.

Name Origin: Lake Erie Monster stories are like fish stories. Drink a few of these
handcrafted Imperial IPAs and you’re bound to start boasting and weaving wild tales of mythic proportions.  Drink more and you might even have visions of South Bay Bessie, the freshwater cryptid for which our Lake Erie Monster is named, lifting her scaly head above the surface of Lake Erie. Or the Cuyahoga River. Or a kiddie pool. Actually, if you
see Bessie in a kiddie pool, take it easy. You’ve probably had too many.
Style Origin: Double India Pale Ales are stronger versions of IPA, typically brewed with higher amounts of malt and hops. This contemporary American style is held in high regard by hopheads.
Flavor: Exploding with bold hop flavors
MALT: Harrington 2-Row Base Malt: Allows color and flavor from other specialty malts to come through; makes for very clean beer Caramel 30: Small amount contributes to color and body.
HOPS: Simcoe: Unique, non-traditional bittering hop contributes to aroma; provides high levels of bitterness with smoothness
Willamette: U.S. version of English Fuggle hop. Provides fruity, floral, and spicy characteristics with mild bitterness.
Pairs With: Steak, pork chops, aged cheese, and dark chocolate.
Only $19.99 per case
